Efrain Gutierrez

Efrain Gutierrez, born on October 15, 1941, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, passed away on September 20, 2026.

He worked for many years at General Motors, building a life marked by dedication and steady commitment. Beyond his work, Efrain found joy in the simple and lasting pleasures that brought people together. He loved fishing and especially treasured taking his sons and grandchildren fishing, creating memories on the water that will be cherished for years to come. He was also known for his interest in and attendance at Native American pow-wows. A very loving father and grandfather, he seemed always to have a camera or camcorder close at hand, faithfully capturing moments and preserving memories across generations.

Efrain’s life was rooted in family, and he leaves behind a circle of loved ones who will carry his memory forward with affection. He is survived by his sons Efrain Gutierrez, with his children Cathy, Efrain, and Matthew; Mark Gutierrez, with his wife Ashley and their children Remi and Raymond; and Anthony Gutierrez, with his children Anthony, Jennifer, and Joseph. He is also remembered with love by the family of his son David Gutierrez, through his children Geanie and Tiffany. He is survived as well by his sister Norma Gutierrez and her son Frank; by the family of his brother Asdrubal Gutierrez, through Asdrubal’s wife Elsa and their children Liza, Michelle, and Stephanie; and by the family of his sister Brunilda Gutierrez, through her daughter Gina. For the past 28 years, Rhonda Kennedy was his devoted partner and an important part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Andres Gutierrez; his mother, Alejandrina Aviles; his son, David Gutierrez and wife Rosa; his brother, Asdrubal Gutierrez; his sister, Brunilda Gutierrez and husband Israel; and his sister Norma’s husband, Frank.

Those who knew Efrain will remember a man whose love for his family showed in both grand and quiet ways: in time spent together, in fishing trips shared with sons and grandchildren, and in the many photographs and recordings he made so that special moments would never be lost. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who loved him.

Visitation will be held on September 26, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Cremation Society of New Jersey, Inc., 470 Colfax Ave, Clifton, NJ 07013.

Efraín Gutierrez falleció el 20 de septiembre de 2026. Había nacido el 15 de octubre de 1941 en Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, y será recordado con profundo amor como un padre y abuelo muy cariñoso, dedicado a su familia y siempre atento a conservar los momentos que más importaban. Quienes lo conocieron lo recuerdan con una cámara o una videocámara en la mano, tomando fotografías y grabando recuerdos que hoy se convierten en un tesoro para varias generaciones.

Durante muchos años trabajó en General Motors, labor que formó parte importante de su vida. Fuera del trabajo, encontraba alegría en la pesca, una afición que compartió generosamente con sus hijos y sus nietos. Esos días junto al agua, en conversación y compañía, dejaron recuerdos entrañables para su familia. También era conocido por su interés y su presencia en pow-wows nativoamericanos, espacios que disfrutaba y valoraba profundamente.

Efraín deja una familia que fue el centro de su vida. Le sobreviven sus hijos Efraín Gutierrez, junto con sus hijos Cathy, Efraín y Matthew; Mark Gutierrez, junto con su esposa Ashley y sus hijos Remi y Raymond; Anthony Gutierrez, junto con sus hijos Anthony, Jennifer y Joseph; y la familia de su hijo David Gutierrez, a través de sus hijas Geanie y Tiffany. También le sobreviven su hermana Norma Gutierrez y el hijo de ella, Frank; la familia de su hermano Asdrubal Gutierrez, a través de Elsa Gutierrez y de sus hijas Liza, Michelle y Stephanie; la familia de su hermana Brunilda Gutierrez, a través de Gina; y Rhonda Kennedy, su compañera durante 28 años.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Andrés Gutierrez y Alejandrina Avilés; su hijo David Gutierrez y su esposa Rosa; su hermano Asdrubal Gutierrez; su hermana Brunilda Gutierrez; así como Frank, esposo de su hermana Norma, e Israel, esposo de su hermana Brunilda.

Su recuerdo vivirá en las historias compartidas, en las imágenes que preservó con tanto esmero y en el cariño de una familia amplia que conoció de cerca su ternura, su constancia y su deseo de crear memorias duraderas. Su vida dejó huella en los momentos sencillos y verdaderos: en una salida de pesca, en una reunión familiar, en cada fotografía tomada con amor.

La visitación se llevará a cabo el 26 de septiembre de 2026, de 2:30 p. m. a 5:30 p. m., en Cremation Society of New Jersey, Inc., 470 Colfax Ave, Clifton, NJ 07013. Allí, familiares y amistades podrán reunirse para honrar su vida, acompañarse mutuamente y despedir con amor a un hombre cuya presencia significó tanto para quienes tuvieron la dicha de conocerlo.
