Judith Ann Moffatt Berry, of Nutley, NJ passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. Judy was born in Glen Ridge, NJ on May 18, 1945. She was 78 years old.
She leaves her three daughters, Jennifer Cherry (Adam), Carolyn Snogans (Charlie) and Karen Berry, along with her five grandchildren, Amber, Rachel, Gabe, Felix and Seraphina. She also leaves her brother, George Moffatt (Helen) and two nieces, Joy and Heather. Judy was predeceased by her parents, Mary (Keily) and George Moffatt.
Born and raised in Bloomfield, NJ, Judy graduated from Immaculate Conception High School and attended Rutgers University for a short time. She worked in the medical field for many years before staying home to raise her daughters. Once her girls were older, she worked 25 years for UMDNJ as a supervisor of the radiology transcriptionists. She often spoke of how much she loved her job and the friends she worked with. She attended Grace Episcopal Church for many years, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and spending time with her friends. She spent the last 10 years enjoying retirement. There was no greater joy for her than to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, going to the beach, seeing friends and going out for lunch - especially to Holsten's in Bloomfield.
Donations can be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Monmouth County ASPCA.
The family will be holding a celebration of life service on Saturday, November 25 at 11 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church in the Fellowship Hall, 200 Highfield Ln, Nutley, NJ 07110. Services will be live-streamed.
